Bogard Road Pavement Preservation Main St. to Trunk Rd.

Project Overview

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing to resurface Bogard Road. The purpose of the proposed project is to extend the service life of the facility.

Right of Way

Public Use Easements and/or Temporary Construction Easements may be required in some areas. Permanent ROW acquisitions are not anticipated.

Current Work

Final design is underway, and the environmental document has been completed and will be updated prior to construction.

Schedule

Preliminary Design/Env. Document: Fall 2022 - Winter 2022
Final Design: Winter 2022 - Spring 2024

Construction

The start of construction is dependent on many factors, including availability of funding and coordination with other proposed projects. Currently, this project is anticipated to begin construction in Summer 2025 or later.

Cost

~$10 million, including design, utility relocation, and construction.

  • Structural section repairs (dig-outs)
  • Drainage improvements
  • Minor ADA compliant curb ramp improvements
  • Pavement markings and sign replacement
  • Replacement of roadside hardware
  • Relocation of utilities
  • Brush clearing
