Seward Highway Update #2

(Anchorage, Alaska)—The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities announced that improving weather and roadway conditions will permit the re-opening of the Seward Highway, between Potter Marsh (MP 115) and Bird (at the MP 100 avalanche gate) effective as of 5:00 this evening. The section of the Seward Highway between Bird and Girdwood is anticipated to remain closed through at least noon on Wednesday. Weather and road conditions continue to be variable and subject to rapid changes.
